Hi, general rules for diet in diabetes are as follow 1. Have small frequent meals. Eating small meals 6 times is better than 3 major meals in a day. Have something in every 3 to 4 hours. For mid morning, mid evening and bed time snack, you can choose between a fruit, a boiled egg, handful of nuts, roasted grams, a glass of milk etc 2. Avoid simple carbohydrates such as maida, refined flour, bakery items, cold drink, sweets, fruit juices etc 3. Have a proper balanced diet with good carbohydrates such as veggies, wheat, ragi, bajra, jowar, oats, unpolished rice etc with protein such as egg, pulses, legumes, sprouts with essential fats such as paneer, tofu, nuts 4. Avoid deep fried snacks, namkeens, anything having excessive oil, ghee, butter etc daily required oil should be limited to 2to 3spoons per day, including all meals 5. Exercise daily for atleast 40 minutes.
