I daily drink two glasses of milk with sugar. Very often I am suffering from cough what should I do? Please advise me.

Dear lybrateuser, - To boost your immunity you have to have a well balanced diet with more of fruits, vegetables including green leafy & seasonal ones, whole grains instead of refined ones, protein rich foods including eggs, milk & milk products, non- veg, legumes, pulses, sprouts, nuts, healthy fats as in fish, olive, canola, sunflower oil, avocados, almonds & walnuts - have glass of warm water with a teaspoon of honey on rising up in the morning - avoid dust, smoke, cold fluids & foods, have more of warm water, tea, coffee, milk, soup - do warm salt water gargles 2-3 times a day - do regular exercise, yoga & deep breathing to to keep your body fit

Drink often hot water, it reduces cough. Avoid fatty, junk and fast foods. Half tea spoon of honey with 30 ml ginger boiled water and 2-5 drops of lemon is good remedy for cough. If still problem remains there are many ayurveda medicines to cure cough.

According ayurveda milk and sugar both create kapha (cold) so you should boiled 1/2 tsp dry ginger powder in milk then drink same warm milk, drink as possible as warm water, do gargles with warm water + salt+ spinch of turmeric, you can add turmeric in milk also. Avoid curd, maida, sweets, cold drinks. Chew 6-8 tulsi leaves daily, if it is possible. Tulsi leaves boost your immunity too.

Stop your milk & observe. Also take 1 tsp of pure turmeric powder 2-3 times a day with a glass of Luke warm water.
