Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Walking for 70 minutes a day is good enough. I would like to know the distance covered in that time as brisk walking is necessary. (covering about 5 kms per hour). Fundus test is to check your retina, as in diabetes due to high glucose in the blood there is a damage caused to retina the photosensitive membrane inside the eye. Fundus is a part of that membrane. To examine that the eye specialist will put some eye drops (mydriatic) which will dilate your pupil and then he can see inside the eye clearly. This is to rule out or to find out if there is any involvement. This test should be done once a year. Thanks.

Dear Lybrateuser, - Your walking time is OK - fundus test is the eye examination to check the blood vessels in the fundus of the eye as they can be affected if blood sugar remains high for a long time.

Walking for 70 minutes is ok, but try to cover atleast 4.5 to 5 kms during the period so that that speed is maintained. Fundus examination is eye examination done by an eye specialist after putting drops in the eyes to ascertain the status of the blood vessels in the eye, because diabetes will cause damage to the eye blood vessels leading to vision loss.
