I am 80 years old male. I.I noticed a lesion on that hard palate of my mouth about 2 years back.In 2016 December I consulted an oral surgeon. He took a biopsy. it he was not malignant. Only inflammatory cells. He.He advised to remove that portion by surgery.In this September I underwent the surgery and on my way to recovery. I want to know how such inflammation take place? I HAVE Been taking seroflo rotocap inhalation for nearly 12 years for wheezing .The lesion appeared in the same place where the inhaler end touches the palate. Is this is the reason? Can the lesion appear again incase I continue the inhalation. I have changed the seroflo and started Budamate 200 now as per doctor's advice. Please. Reply.

Yes constant irritating causes cells to multiply as a protective mechanism if it exceeds it leads to precancerous lesion which are harmless if treated timely ,pls try avoiding keeping in the same place.

If the ulcer is not increasing and constantly same in size and site, then likely traumatic ulcer and might be persistent because of steroid inhalations. Consult surgical oncology specialist for any doubt.

Hi lybrate-user, you mentioned it's not malignant it's good, but you not mentioned the diagnosis after biopsy, kindly post biopsy report it helps in knowing the prognosis. Any kind of steroid usages will definitely alter the tissue response to inflammation, that to you are using for long term definitely it has its side effects.

Be happy as you got a diagnosis excluding malignancy. It is likely to have inflamatory lesions of palate while using inhalers. 2 ways can be tried. 1.to change the inhaler to other options 2.wear a palatal plate to avoid effect of onhaler. Better to repeat thd biopsy if lesion persist. Thank you.
