I am in pre Diabetes category with average sugar level varying between 110-125 in the morning and 140-160 after blast. I have to take precautions and avoid sweets as far as possible. I do have sweets in a limited quantities. I am a sports person do about 30 odd km walk during the week, including my two days of golf. Can I take Metformin tablet to control this. I am also inclined to have Ayurveda medicines if it helps. Presently I do not have any medicines of any kind.

I think you should avoid sweets, sweet fruits, sugar,jaggery (gur, honey.Continue walking, playing and exercise. Monitor blood sugar regularly. Maintain ideal body weight.
