Hi, Ankle swelling may be due to venous flow stagnation on the foot. If she is obese, she has to reduce her weight. Avoid standing for long duration. Sit on a chair, in between, while working in the kitchen. Do a color doppler study of the legs to rule out venous blocks. Keep the foot end elevated while lying down so that the pedal oedema reduces.
