I am 5o years female and I recently had a lipid profile done. My total cholesterol is 225 mg/dl hdl cholesterol is 64 mg/dl and triglycerides is 132 mg/dl ldl cholesterol is 148 mg/dl. Am I supposed to take medicine to reduce my cholesterol. If I take flax seeds will my weight reduce too much-as it is I am slim only. What cooking oil is best for cholesterol?

Hello lybrate-user. Your cholesterol is on the higher side. Also your ldl cholesterol is very high which is called the bad cholesterol. For one month stop having saturated fats like ghee, butter and also processed foods. Flax seeds won't reduce your weight. Try switching to canola or rice bran oil. After one month get your lipid profile done again and send it to me. If it is not controlled you have to take medicines for it.
