Last June I came to know that I have Syphilis. TPHA +ve and VDRL +ve with 1: 32.So as doctor's suggestion I took total 22 shots of penicillin till now and 25 days took doxycycline 100 mg oral antibiotics in between. My VDRL tests came down to reactive at first 1: 16 (18/08/17) and then 1: 8 (21/09/17). Took the last test on 16/10/17 but my VDRL is still reactive at 1: 8. My last injection was on 17/09/17. After that no injection or any oral medicine. Somehow I started to believe that I need to continue with the injections till I am cured. But don't know if it has any side effects. Do I need to take more injections and continue oral antibiotics? Any other way to become negative for VDRL. Please help. Write in brief please not like sms note ended with contact me. Thank you.

These many injections are not required. No more injections. VDRL takes loing time to become negative. TPHA is better test for this.
