Both the tests are absolutely normal. So do not worry. To prevent development of diabetes as you have family history is disciplined and regulated life. Avoiding unnecessary worry and be physically active like morning/evening walk/jogging/dancing etc. For 1 hour every day of your life. Having proper sleep like going to bed latest by 10 pm and get up early and practice yoga/pranayama etc. Taking timely meals without skipping any of the breakfast, lunch or dinner and avoiding junk/street food. Being physically active through out the day will help prevent development of diabetes and hypertension. Good luck.

Dear Ms. lybrate-user, Your HbA1c is in pre-diabetic stage. Somehow it indicates that you have a tendency to develop diabetes in future. But that can be reversed if we just start concentrating on our diet and modifying lifestyle a little bit more into a healthy style & that is what is recommended at this stage. Your sedentary lifestyle might be reason for this type of variation. So do more exercises, walking etc and change to a healthy diet plan. Monitor the sugar level every week and if the variation still persists, then you are advised to consult An Ayurvedic Physician for more help. Thanks Healthcare Team

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. HbA1c% 6 is suggestive of being in pre-diabetes state. Which means if proper care is not taken in terms of diet control, weight control and exercise, there is every chance of your progressing to become a diabetic person. You need to adapt a modifies lifestyle, which means taking a properly planned diet, avoiding sweets, pastries, bakery items, foods made of maida, colas, alcohol and increase intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Exercise regularly for at least 1 hour a day. Maintain normal weight. Your BMI is 26.64 kgs (normal < 23 kgs). So there is almost 7 kg extra weight. That needs to be reduced. Thanks.
