My father, a surgeon DOCTOR (MBBS Ms. ENT Surgeon) Ex CMO of medical college of a central University, 4 childrens, I being the elder one 94 born. Got his first issue with thinking issues which relate to schizophrenia when I was 2 years old (as I got info from my mother) there after he recovered but most often symptoms are there, which slowly led to diminishing the career and he started getting problem with most of his colleagues and finally had to leave government position of MO in 2009, in bad Situations, he do not do anything by himself, he expects everything to be done by someone else, not even his needs, he always orders someone to do something for him and keeps lying on bed, now I took him to live with me in Delhi from a bad living style to great improvements, but he started getting it for granted and finds problem in everything, I work here for nominal salary and I am just an intermediate, instead of taking this as appreciation he Complains that his enemies are not allowing him to work and my money is a charity being given to him, when I start a hot debate he always ends up saying that suicide is better when it comes to honor. I am not able to understand whether it's the disease or his nature, I am fed up doing more than my capacity, instead of taking my support for productive use to establish himself he complaints, how to get him out of bed or a get a solution to this. I consulted a psychiatrist and giving him risdone syrup. Please help. He always takes some medicines by his own. Like anti biotic etc, which also causes side effects. And not ready to go to a doctor for a checkup.

He has poor insight into his psychiatric illness, the misdone syrup is an option, or you can apply to magistrate and get him evaluated and treated in accordance with existing mental health act. All the best
