Hi lybrate-user, Many face similar problems once they join for their first job. So, I will explain a bit in detail so that others reading also get to know. Your body and mind would have adjusted to a particular way of life during student life and when you start working, your routine is disturbed. Its new challenges which requires lot of energy for the body and mind. The nerves in the brain requires neurochemicals/neurotransmitters for it to function well i.e, for attention, concentration, processing of new information, finding a solution, judgement etc. The neurotransmitters are synthesized on a daily basis and on new job, it has to be synthesized in excess which is away from usual, to meet the new challenges of life. In your case, the machinery in your brain which is synthesizing the neurotransmitters has done its duty in excess for a month but it is getting exhausted making you feel low. Usually, a person learns to cope with the challenges in life sooner or later as the neurotransmitters will get synthesized in excess on regular basis, it requires time. But few will not be able to synthesize/ match the amount of neurotransmitters required. They would go in for having various Psychiatric Disorders esp Depression which is very common. Having told how it is caused, now what you should do. 1. Try relaxation exercises which you can learn from videos on internet. 2. Sleep atleast 7 hrs a day. In the afternoons, you ca take a nap of aroung 20 mins. 3. Take short breaks during your work especially when you feel stressed out. 4. Exercise daily. 5. Healthy diet. 6. Problem focused Approach. 7. If still not able to manage, Consult Psychiatrist at the earliest. Regards.
