After pregnancy my thyroid TSH: 4.993. Doctor told to use 75 power tablets. And now after one year. My TSH-5.4 (0.38 to 4.7).T3-75.98 and T4-6.46.Should I continue the same power or change to more or less power. Please suggest.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. When on treatment ideally TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, to be free from all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. So if the TSH level is 5.4 mU/L, then there is a need for increasing the dose by about 12.5 mcg and check TSH after 6 to 8 weeks to see if the desired level is reached. Thanks.
