I am 60 years old male and I used to do my body check-up in every 6 months from last 10 years. Presently, I am retired. Yesterday I had done my routine check-up and got report. As per report cholesterol is 301 and Uric Acid is 8.1 (seems to be high) and blood sugar is normal. Kindly advise how to reduce my cholesterol and Uric Acid.

You have not mentioned the complete cholesterol report, Assuming that 301 is total cholesterol, it is raised and you should immediately start with lifestyle precautions like - 1) Daily exercise for 30 mins like brisk walking 2) quit drinking and smoking (if you do) 3) Eat a healthy diet (take a detailed diet consult) 4) If you are already doing all this you should be put on medications. 5) You should also get a TMT and Echo done since you are 60 to rule out blockage as result of cholesterol deposition.

High LDL high cholesterol put you on a higher risk of atherosclerotic diseases and heart attacks especially if you have other is factors including hypertension diabetes or a history of smoking so I would advise you to continue / start taking statins which are cholesterol medications the dose of which depends upon your cholesterol levels also you need to start changing your dietary habits and include a regular physical exercise at least 45 minutes a day 5 days a week into your schedule nonetheless you have to stop taking fatty and junk food good luck.
