The main symptoms of diabetes are increased hunger, increased thirst and increased urination. Also, since he is lonely, he could be suffering from depression which further increases the desire to eat. Give him complex carbohydrates and protein rich diet which keeps him satisfied longer. Arrange for healthy snacks like roasted chana, ,multigrain mathri, roasted peanuts, makhane, murmure etc as snacks which he can have as he desires. Keep option of healthy drinks like chhach, coconut water, fresh lime water etc. Try to keep him occupied. Encourage him to go to the park, club etc and meet up with people.

Hello, Thanks for the query. In case diabetes is not well controlled, the patient may feel repeated hunger as well as he may pass more urine. This happens as more glucose is lost through urine. So please check is blood glucose levels. If FBG is < 100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg & HbA1c% <7, then he may not get repeated hunger. Also you look at giving him more of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits instead of eatables like biscuits, bakery items and pastries etc. Thanks.
