Hello Lybrate user, it completely depends on the severity of the disease like if the patient is having loose stools and abdominal pain then patient should avoid all type of fried, spicy, high flavored foods, intake of artificial sweeteners, high fiber foods, whole grains and also avoid milk and milk products. Along with this if patient is suffering from diarrhea then increase the intake of liquids, have probiotics, lassi, yogurt, shikanji, fresh fruit juices without fruit skin. And if patient is able to tolerate all types of food then just try to avoid fried and spices and have small meals with lots of liquids works very well for and ulcerative patient. As ulcerative is a life long disease so its better to keep a good diet and not let aggravate the symptoms of ulcerative. For further information can contact in personal.
