Swelling of the legs could be due to renal disease, cardiac conditions, medications for hypertension, Diabetes, or even hypoalbuminemia. Filariasis too can cause chronic swelling of legs. Please get investigations, of liver functions, renal functions, Blood sugar fasting and after food, Hb AIC, ECG. Please then consult a general physician who can diagnose the condition. Other cause for unilateral leg swelling could be Varicose veins, proved by a venous Doppler.
