I am 22 years female preparing fr civil services since 2 yrs. Since then I have gained 10 kilos. I was 53 kg in a stable way. But after 2015 upto now. My weight has gone increasing n now I am 63 kg. I am a hypothyroid patient diagnosed in 2015. Since then m taking thyroxine tablets 50 mg. And my thyroid results are normal always. Everything under range. I want to become slim doctor .i am very depressed.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism is known to increase weight. So if you want to reduce weight, then it is essential to achieve strict control and bring down TSH < 3mU/L. As there is no mention of actual value ("my thyroid results are normal always.) it is difficult to give any specific advice. For reducing weight it is essential to restrict food intake, actual daily caloric intake has to be based on ideal body weight (55 kgs, extent of daily exercise and reduction planned. But the effort will succeed if TSH value is <3 mU/L. Thanks.
