I am breastfeeding and one of my breast is swollen as my 04 month old baby did not feed properly for a day after his vaccination. Due to this, I have a fever and abdomen pain. The doctor prescribed Pacimol 650 and zifi 200 tablets. Are these medicines safe for breastfeeding?

Most likely the fever is due to breast engorgment. Please continue feed frequently do hot fomentation and paracetamol sos fir pain/fever. There is no need to take any antibiotics. Most of medicine taken by lactating mother is excreated in trace amount thus breastfeeding can be safely continued.

If your physician or obst-gynae has prescribed you medicine after proper consultation you should follow it. BF can be definitely continued. Relieve breast with hot fomentation and give feeding then child would be able to take it.
