I am 42 years old with no genetic diabetes history. Recently after blood testing found fasting sugar 139 mg/dL. I am doing 4 test in a day with help of gluco check meter. I am finding lots of variation. From day 1 to day 5 - fasting sugar varies from 115 to 160. Whereas after food 2 hrs varies from 115 to 190. I used to drink less water about 500 ml per day and now trying drink 2 to 3ltrs per day. Please suggest.

Avoid refined cereals like maida,avoid rice,potato, avoid sugar,glucose,honey ,jaggery. Add eggs, whole pulses,poultry to your food.Have small frequent meals every 3 to 4 hours. Brisk walk for 45 minutes daily. Don't start anti diabetic medicines till sugar levels are maintained under 200.

Hi. Before thinking to plan a start with medicine for diabetes. Kindly try life style modications. Dring 3-4 glases of luke warm water early morning empty stomach. Go for regular physical exercise eat healthy and good food. Eat green vegetables and leafy veg. Avoid oily food and fat and junk foods. Never take large quantity meal. Instead take small quantity meals which can be repeted again. Never dring water just after meals. Give a gap of 1/2 - 1 hr. Kindly follow these steps and see the difference.
