Hi, I am 2 pp6 years old female and have Maternity thyroid. I have tested on 24th February 2017 thyroid report result value: 8.85 TSH and again took TSH test on 15th August 2017 thyroid report: 1.96 TSH I have taken thyroxine 100 mg tablet every day morning one pill per day and Now it got reduced from 8.85 TSH to 1.96 TSH. Could you please suggest my medication whether Should I need to continue medicine or suggested reduced dosage level or do not take any medicines no more. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Madam hypothyroidism is a thyroxine hormone deficiency disease, hence treatment has ti be continued for lifetime. As your TSH is 1.96 mU/L, it is better to continue with the same dose. You may check TSH agai after 8 weeks and if TSH goes further low, then one can look at reducing the dose. But right now, continue the same 100 mcg per day. Thanks.
