Whenever I sit to study I get depressed I think about my future and all the bad things that can happen with me. How can I prevent that I have tried meditation and do exercise everyday but it does not seem to work. I had masturbation addiction and I think its related to that problem but I have hypothyroid symptoms too. Please help me.

Hello Lybrate-user, Don't dwell too much on your future, future is something that has not happened yet and so you can always choose to change your present to modify your future. 1. Keep aside 15 minutes in a day to think about your future, after that you have to concentrate on your studies. 2. Whenever your thoughts bother you Deep Breathe in for 10 minutes. 3. Take up a new hobby or activity, this will keep you distracted and your mind fresh. E.g. Any sport, learn a new instrument like guitar, dance or even paint.
