My leg was broken before 4.5 years and I go operation. I have platinum inside the bone from the hip to the knee, with 4 screws. If I walk a lot I feel pain above the knee at the screws place exactly. I feel I recovered when should I remove the platinum? What should I do with the pain? Is the removal operation is going to break my bone again? Thanks.

Yes ,your bone may be broken in the removal of internal fixation or platinum. My advice to you take a fresh xray of lower limb. And go for physiotherapy.

4.5 year is quite long enough time for bone to join. If the titanium plate is giving problem it must be removed. After removing the implant, the bone it's unlikely to break if it's joined properly. Sometimes removing the offending screws is enough and full implant removal is not needed. (By the way Implants are made of stainless steel or titanium. No implant is made of platinum. If in doubt you can ask your doctor to give the removed implant to you. Check it yourself.)
