Can I continue giving hot or warm water to my 9 years old daughter frequently to keep away from catching cold frequently? Because recently she is diagnosed with hypothyroidism Can I still continue giving hot or warm water? Kindly suggest Thanks.

No harm in giving Luke warm water but in no way it will help in hypothyroidism.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Whether you give hot water or normal (not cold from refrigerator) there is no problem. Hypothyroidism does not lead to repeated cold. Just give her prescribed amount of Thyroxine and treat her as a normal child. Hypothyroidism is a very simple condition when you give adequate amount of Thyroxine supplement. Do not treat her separately or keep talking about that condition. She will grow like any other normal child. Thanks.
