Hi I would like to knw something about hiv window period in india I would appreciate if you can answer my questions one bye one 1.what is the conclusive hiv window period is it 3 months or 6 months 2.if I am hiv negative after 3 months window period do I need to retest again after 6 months to get a final answer or 3 months is enuf and accurate 3.can someone take more than 3 months or 6 months hiv create antibodies by any chance 4.i have not got the perfect answer so far does it take more than a year to trace hiv antibodies or 3 months is enuf to trace and you should feel confident about it that you are clear.

Its conclusive dear .The window period is the point from first infection until the test can reliably detect antibodies in the blood. For the ELISA test this window period is 4 weeks to 3 months. A 4th generation test like the one you took, also known as a DUO or Combo test, looks for both antibodies and P24 protein antigens.
