My son 7 years old. He does not sit on one place ever always run jump etc. Now from few month he does not obey anyone and not listen to anyone. Even not concentrating on studies. If somebody call and talk him he ignore or did misbehave like making faces laugh etc. Many he knows the answer but give wrong answers and say I was joking.

Dear Lybrate User Todays lifestyle making the children restless and full of energy. Its important as parents that we channelise their energies. But by simply looking at the behaviours mentioned by you we can not label a child. Its important that a thorough assessment should be done by a professional team including a Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Special Educator. These behaviours can be manifested by number of issues including child's difficult temperament, inappropriate parenting styles, unstructured schedule or academic habits and too much of junk foods like high sugary diet or excess of maida. Hence, its necessary to meet the professionals. Another thing you can try - Form a schedule for your child. The child you should be involved in forming that schedule. Give time for his likeable activities also. Reduce the child's sugar and maida intake. Keep a watch on child's TV viewing and electronic video games playing. Trying reducing these and involve him in some outdoor play activities. May be joining some sports club or dance classes. Use bedtime for telling him stories, which are rich in positive behaviours like how to respect others, be polite etc. Try send these positive messages in a child friendly way. Avoid giving lectures.
