Hello Those spaces were present from before where calculus was getting deposited and after removal the spaces become evident. You will feel normal n good in a few days .but If the spacing is too much then you can go either for orthodontic treatment or veneers or crowns to close them.

Hi if you had lots of deposits (tartar) around your teeth and which must be the reason for bleeding gums/receeding gums/bone loss around the teeth then that deposits need to be removed. Exactly same thing your dentist had done. Due to these deposits bone loss happens around the teeth but you don't realise it as it gets covered by deposits. Once your Dentist removes those deposits, you can see the actually damage/space created due to infected deposits. Thts the actually condition of your teeth. Ok now as your scaling is done, you need to maintain those gaps and oral hygiene. There is good chance that the gaps will reduce with time n proper maintenance. Bt not 100% recovery. Thank you.

Because of callous formation the gums loses their attachment and when scaling removes them the appears spaces in it... If the gums detachment was not severe it should come to close the places upto certain extent but major spaces will remain open.. You will have to keep it clean as in empty spaces the food lodgement and callous formation is even fast...

Dear lybrate user, the spaces must have been created after removal of calculus and plaque deposits in between your teeth. Scaling instruments are very mild and they cannot cut between your teeth so don't worry. Long time hard deposits between teeth have gone after scaling, that's why you feel spaces between teeth.

Removal of deposits /calculus in between the teeth may cause spaces. If these deposits are not removed your teeth would appear yellow, affect the gums causing bleeding of gums and also cause bad breath and even weaken the bone healthy gums are more important. Spacing of the teeth could be due to weakened bone or other causes. An xray will help to know the cause. Do visit the dentist nearby scaling is only benefical. /calculus
