I am a female aged 58 years. I have osteoarthritis. I am taking calcium substitute in the form of CCM (Calcium Citrate Malate-Vitamin D3 Oral). Is it a good calcium supplement or is there any other which is better than this?

Dear lybrate-user, Osteoarthritis and taking calcium supplements are two different things. If your calcium levels are down in your body i.e. If you are osteoporotic then calcium supplements along with other medications may be helpful. For osteoarthritis you need to control weight, do knee strengthening exercises and avoid some postures to decrease pain and manage your condition more appropriately. Please consult a qualified physiotherapist to manage your condition more appropriately.

Please check your Vitamin D. Calcium supplement will not digest unless you have proper vitamin D supplement also. You can restrain yourself from all fermented food. Check for ozone doctor in your city, ozone therapy may help you.
