may be it is flourosis.. if ur drinking water contains less or more fluoride then that will cause this type of patches.. if you take veneer or cap, u r just hiding it but not treating it.

Brush twice daily properly with proper tooth brush. Wash with water after food. Some time use proper mouth wash. Ageing can also cause tooth stain. Dont drink more coffee & tea. Avoid tobacco & pan. Every 6th month do scaling treatment. By scaling your normal tooth color will come. If u want more white tooth then Tooth Bleaching or Veneering you do, but its bit costly treatment.

Dear Lybrate user, Dear Sir, If your teeth have got yellowish stains/ deposits then normal brushing will not be able to remove it. Stains can be removed with the help of professional scaling and polishing procedure and you will get your bright smile back. The stains / yellow hard deposits on your teeth make the surface of your teeth rough and therefore increase the suscpetibility of cavities/decay/gum problems. These yellow deposits are caused by beverages and foodstuffs like coffee, tea etc when there is inefficient cleaning of all the tooth surfaces. Brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. With thorough brushing, you can remove plaque from the inner, outer and chewing surfaces of each tooth. Your dentist can show you a proper brushing technique. Clean between teeth once a day with dental floss or another interdental cleaner to remove plaque and debris from areas your toothbrush can't reach.
