Dear Lybrate User, The medicine that you are currently taking (Novelon) could be one of the reasons for sore gums, as a side effect. There could be other underlying causes as well including infection. You must get yourself examined by a dentist at the earliest to rule out any progressing pathology. Meanwhile, lukewarm saline mouthrinses (salt in warm water) would soothe the gums. Consult a dentist immediately. Be well!

HI Lybrate USER, unless we know your age and position were you are having pain or sour gums its hardly possible to know the reason of the condition why it happened, it might be due to trauma while eating, ulcer, improper brushing technique, poor oral hygiene, so kindly provide detail but without examining practically hard to say, I can suggest some oral habit maintenance: 1. Brush twice, Make sure you clean your tongue while brushing2. Use regular mouth wash every night before sleep 3. Pls do use floss. 4. Consume water frequently for every 2 hours, rinse your mouth after having food and check the outcome in a month. And do visit your dentist for regular check up.
