I have 2 teeth with small parts of white part broken and gone which is not looking good for me. But I never felt pain like such thing. Its paining after shaping of my teeth for cap and currently having temporary. The total teeth size reduced and the whole white part of teeth removed. My doubt is already I have cap for 1 teeth no reducing of teeth was done like this so is this the right process which I have been through?

Dear Lybrate user, When a crown has to be placed on a tooth, the tooth will need to be shaped/reduced in size. However, Pain even after having a temporary cap on reduced (shaped) tooth should not be there. Please consult your dentist. Note: A cap is never placed on non reduced tooth.
Yes it is right process of capping the tooth may be earlier you have gone for veneer which doesnot require cutting of teeth.
Hello Sir, as far as your case is concerned the proper procedure if followed, i.e crown cutting for placement of the caps or crown and bridge. There is actual cutting down of the tooth in order to generate a new crown which can bear the occlusal forces better and adds to chewing efficiency of the mouth as a whole. In this procedure subsequent sensitivity can b faced by the patient which subsides after cap / crown prosthesis placement.
Yes. You have undergone the right process. Since your teeth does not undergo root canal procedure you need to take some painkiller (paracetamol).
Yes it is absolutely the right process ,use sensoform toothpaste twice daily after meals.
Yes it is right process, for giving crown on any teeth you need to do reduction and need to make a teeth small,so dont worry.
