Dear lybrateuser, - You & your friend should avoid smoking cigarette as it is very harmful to the body & your symptoms could be due to the harmful effects of smoking as the mucosa in the throat & lungs can be affected & lead to lethal disorders - do warm water gargles, have plenty of fluids including water, tea, coffee, milk, soup, have a well balanced diet with more of fruits & vegetables, protein foods like eggs, non veg, lentils, beans, pulses, sprouts, peas, soya products, tofu - get x- ray chest done & consult a doctor.

Your sharing a cigarette with your asthmatic friend cannot give you the kind of problem you mention. It is more likely that the smoke you inhaled could have caused this throat irritation and bronchitis because of which you hear the sounds you are hearing. Cut down on your smoking and lead a healthy life. You are not an asthmatic as of now. Also suggest your ex-asthmatic friend to give up smoking as he could simply have a relapse and this time he may not be so lucky as to get out of the disease. All the best and take care.
