I am 30 years old female, a patient of hypothyroidism. I am not getting any relief from Thyronorm 125 mg dose. I have also developed primary hypertension. Should I add some more medicines? I also take Thyrowel, Uprise (1/7) and have recently started amlopres 5 mg (1/2 BD)

Thanks for the query. With 125 mcg of levothyroxine, every day, what is the current TSH level? Because if one has to be symptom free then TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L. At a younger age. But your age TSH should be around 5 mU/L. Please check the same and inform. Plus what is the BP reading with current treatment? If 2.5 mg twice a day tablet of Amlodepine is helping, then it is not such a serious problem There are 2.5 mg tablets available rather than cutting the tablet and taking it. Taking Thyrowel, is of no use. There is no clinical evidence of its benefit. Most important is to take adequate dose of Thyroxine tablets. If you have any other doubt please do come back. Thanks.
