Dear, the unique problem with bad breath (halitosis) is that more than the patient, friends & relatives have to suffer. Therefore I can empathize with you. Although halitosis can be due to both local & systemic causes the most common cause of the problem is poor oral hygiene. I will advise you to seek a dentist's consultation who can do a professional cleaning of her mouth. You must encourage her to get into the habit of brushing after every meal, rinsing mouth regularly and flossing at least once daily. She should also clean her tongue regularly. Hope this helps. Regards.

Bad breath can be reduced or prevented if you: practice good oral hygiene. Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove food debris and plaque. Don't forget to brush the tongue, too. Replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months or after an illness. Use floss or an interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between teeth once a day. See your dentist regularly -- at least twice a year. He or she will conduct an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning and will be able to detect and treat periodontal disease, dry mouth, or other problems that may be the cause of bad mouth odor. Drink lots of water. This will keep your mouth moist. Chewing gum (preferably sugarless) stimulates the production of saliva, which helps wash away food particles and bacteria.

Kindly consult a physician & dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

She may has gum disease known as gingivitis with plaque deposition. Scaling will help in this regard. Ask her to try this remedy at home.mix few drops of peppermint in lukewarm water and rinse three times a day after each meal. Use alcohol free mouthwash after each meal.
