I have a kind of ball like thing in my neck under the skin which moves back and forth when I press it. It's not protruding much. Only a very slight bump can be seen. It has around 1.5 cm diameter. I have had it for many years. Don't know for sure if it has grown.

I would strongly suggest you visit a General Surgeon or a Head and Neck surgeon, who can do necessary investigations including fine needle aspiration biopsy, determine the cause of the neck swelling, and if required, surgically remove it and send it for an histopathology investigation.
