I am a 23 year old guy. I have been experiencing backache from past few days. It starts when I wake up in the morning and stays throughout the day varying in magnitude. The center of the pain is on the back near shoulder, which affects my left hand. It pains dearly. I took some pain killers too. It tends to reduce but returns back after a few hours. I don't know if its a muscle pain or if I am having any problems with the bone there, as when I move my left arm ,i can hear the slight unusual sound of bones, you know when they rub against each other. What should I do?

Looking at your history the pain seems to be postural in nature as it starts in the morning. Changing your posture while sleeping may help a lot in this. Use one or two pillows beneath your knees to keep it bent while you sleep. In this posture, back muscles are relaxed. While getting up, first turn to your side and then get up. Do hot fomentations twice a day and avoid forward bending or lifting any weight. If after doing this much you feel slight relief from pain then it means that the pain is just because of posture. Or else we will further investigate with X-ray etc.
