Hi doctor. My father is diabetic. His recent report shows diabetes level of 200. So I want to know the food habits which he must follow. Kindly tell me which all fruits he can consume. Actually he avoids eating fruits also arguing Der ll be sugar content in it. But avoiding sugar completely is also not gud ryt. So please tell me at least which fruits he must eat. And wat foods he must consume. My father is 58 years old, and having diabetes since 1 year. And he has BP also and takes amlong 5 mg tablet daily. He don't take any tablet for diabetes.

To start diabetes and blood pressure needs life style modification. Avoid sugar and fatty diet. Take small frequent meal 3 times a day containing missi roti (half wheat +half besan) lot of salad before each meal. Your father can take all fruits except mango, banana,grapes, chikoo and leechi and no fruit juices. Fruits must be taken inbetween meal not just after meal. Please srtict to this formula.
