Hello Ms. lybrate-user root canal is painless procedure. Replacing the tooth and root canal both are done under local anaesthesia. So don't worry and go for root canal procedure. Root canal is better than replacing the tooth.

Hi, I understand your concern. However, you should not worry about pain as far as you are not concerned with the length or cost of the procedure. All the procedures these days are very comfortable for the patient and very good anaesthetic techniques and medications are available these days. Every doctor tries to satisfy the patient to his best level of expertise. Hence don't worry about pain at all, in short. Take care.

Hi lybrate-user, like any other dental treatment root canal treatment (RCT) is completed under local anaesthesia. The concerned tooth along with the nearby teeth and gums would be completely numb and you wouldn't feel any pain. After the procedure is finished their are chance that your tooth would be a liitle tender, and this will subside after few days through medication. Keeping a tooth by treating it is always better than removing a tooth. Artificial tooth can never be equivalent to our natural tooth. Hope this helps.

Hi lybrate-user. Root canal treatment is not so painful as it is done under local anesthesia. Nothing can better do function as much as the original tooth. Better you consult an endodontist.

I would recommend you to go for root canal treatment. It is done under anesthesia and will be a painless procedure. It is a single visit procedure. Tooth extraction, on the other hand, is also done under local anesthesia but once the effect of anesthesia wears off it will be painful. You will be prescribed painkillers for 4 or 5 days. Healing will take almost a month or two and only after that replacement is done in most clinics. Also, when you look into the affordability part, extracting and replacing with a bridge is a lot more expensive and time consuming than an RCT and crown placement.

both the procedure are done under local anaesthesia. so there will be no pain or very minor pain which can be easily handled with painkillers. but the amount of teeth structure damage will determine whether to go for root canal treatment or removal of teeth.

Hello Replacing tooth will be more painful. But these both procedures are performed under local anesthesia so you won't feel pain. First visit a dentist and get an x ray done for the tooth then the dentist will decide whether to do a root canal or simply cavity filling. Regards.
