Hello doctor, I'm pregnant of 9 weeks. And having kidney stones of 16 mm and 8 mm in right and left kidneys. Doctor suggested me that as I don't have kidney stones pain, they suggested me to continue the pregnancy, if in case problem arises means if I get pain, then in the 2nd trimester they can do surgery in emergency. They guaranteed that It won't harm my baby too. That's my case till now. But my question is, in pregnancy, need to take more calcium intake. But as per my knowledge, more calcium intake will effect kidney stones, please help me sir/madam how much I have to take calcium daily. I completely stopped drinking milk and any calcium products.

Yr doctor is right .Don't worry nothing happen with years babby. All kidney stones are not formed by Calcium. During pregnancy calcium req. Increases If you don't Take calcium from out side than years baby pull Cal. Form years bones and years bones became week. And after some month so many complications occurs. So it is better to Take Calcium instead of not. Very careful watch is req. About kidney's stones pelvic calicies. Dilatation of kidney's and kidney's infection s which is common in this type of case. Do regular USG and routine urin examination.

your doctor is right you are right by taking no calcium tablets but do take milk products like milk and curds as it's simple digestible proteins and has just sufficient calcium needed for growing baby
