Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (HT), is an autoimmune disease where there is lymphocytic infiltration in the thyroid gland leading to it becoming slightly enlarged and firm in consistancy. Since it is an autoimmune disease some amount of increase in lymphocytes does occur. Thanks.
