I am overweight by 20 KGS. And my lifestyle is sedentary, as I work in a IT firm. I will be sitting for almost 12 hours in a day. There is no time for any physical exercise. My thyroid levels are normal. I tried dieting as well but no use. My weight is continuously increasing specially my lower body and tummy. Don't know what to do. As I have started facing irregular periods as well. This is leading me to depression.

In general, I would advise you to take care of your dietary habits and lifestyle first. Should you be taking oily, greasy, fatty & sweet foods/ drinks, do cut down on them, and focus instead on more of leafy greens & fresh seasonal fruits on a day to day basis. Include foods rich in lean protein & poultry especially fresh cold water fish, in your diet too. Basically, a relative Mediterranean diet is preferable. Should you be deficient, a multivitamin with all essential nutrients/ vitamins could also be taken transiently for a couple of weeks while your dietary patterns come to track. At the same time, do incorporate daily exercises, yoga & walking for 30 to 45 minutes at least 5 days a week. Dear user. I can understand. But there is no use of excuses like you don't have time for physical exercises. there are no short cuts to loose weight and for maintaining healthy body and mind. the only available remedy is physical exercises at least for one hour daily. You must accept it as part of your life. Take care.
