Marriage between first cousins doubles the risk of children being born with birth defects. The risk of having a baby with birth defects – usually heart or nervous system problems. I think your case is different. It is not the first cousion.

It is a consanguineous marriage but unless there is a trait in your family of blood disorders like sickle cell, thalassemia or madness, it doesn't matter. Anyway its a distant relation so 3rd degree. Go ahead.
