You have not told your age. Generally at the age of 18-25 due to the incomplete eruption of wisdom tooth. A gum flap is over the tooth and trauma from upper tooth or due to food lodgement leading to infection may cause severe pain and limited opening of mouth. Or there may be deep cavity causing pain. Diagnosis can only be drawn by oral examination and dental radiograph. Please visit a dental surgeon. Meanwhile keep that area clean by brushing properly as well as do warm saline gargles.
