Hello. Re-rct is possible but. It does not work out in every case. Im sure doctor has suggested you extraction after looking at poor prognosis of your RCT treated tooth. If at all you want to keep this tooth, visit a endodontist, he/she would be the best person to judge your case. Do not worry there are very good options for replacement of extracted tooth which will restore both aesthetics and function of the tooth. Hope this helps.

It was a MISTAKE many people do not to get capping done after RCT. In your case, a Re RCT can be done but prognosis is poor, only endodontist can perform it precisely with best outcome. If you can afford you can choose second time RCT or else extraction is the last option. THANK YOU.

You should always complete the treatment. Crown are to placed after rct .you can do rerct and place the crown discuss with your dentist for rerct but if your dentist advice your for extraction that means the prognosis of re treatment is not good. You should always listen to your dentist he will guide you with best treatment protocols. You can do extraction and replace the tooth with implants, crowns or bridges. Take care.

Capping after RCT is advised to prevent the tooth from breaking as it tends to break after a RCT. If your tooth is intact that is; if it has not broken it can still be capped and the option of re treatment can be explored. Express all your concerns and discuss treatment options with your doctor and try to understand the reasons behind them. Your doctor knows your case and he would be the best person to advise you. I can understand your reluctance to having your tooth removed. As I said its best to have a discussion with your doctor without hesitation. There's no reason for you to feel uncomfortable with that. If you still are in doubt after discussing all treatment options and rationale with your doctor, you can certainly take a second opinion. But I would again like to stress an open discussion with your doctor first. Take care.

Yes doc a failed Root canal treated tooth may be salvaged at times by doing a re treatment provided its favourable means we need to look for the reason of failure. If it's just because if not putting a crown the reason may be leakage of the filling, this may be taken care off. But if there is any vertical fracture of the root than probably it might have to be pulled out. But it's difficult to comment until one examines the tooth clinically as well As radio graphically.
