I am suffering from Dry mouth syndrome and mild anxiety. I am hypertensive and taking MetXL AM 50 OD on cardiologist advice. Please help.

increase your liquid intake n ensure you take it at regular intervals. reduce your intake of caffeinated drinks like coffee tea n soft drinks. this usually happens when you are on anti hypertensive drugs as they are diuretics. so don't worry. if the condition persist or worsen, you can try salivating mouthwash which will enhance saliva production in your mouth

Dear Concerned Dry mouth could be a side effect of your medication. Discuss it with your cardiologist. 1.sip water at regular intervals. You can try ice cubes. Drink at least a litre and a half of water everyday. 2.Smoking and coffee can worsen a dry mouth. 3.Citrus lozenges and sugar free gums can be of some help. 4.Avoid mouthwashes.(alcohol free can be used) 5.Try and get lozenges that are more natural. Ginger candy is a great option. Another great option is amla candy. Avoid sweetened or salted options. Go as natural as possible. Take care.
