In morning, I get little thick jelly like saliva in my mouth. What is the cause? Do I need to worry?
Ask Free Question
Saliva production is directly related to the activities in the mouth like chewing and speaking. Whenever there is some activity in the mouth it stimulates saliva production. Since during sleep there is no activity going on in the mouth, saliva production is reduced. Hence, the first saliva produced in the morning will be thicker in consistency. There is no reason to worry.

There is production of saliva when we do any physiologic activities. When we sleep in the night, our mouth is at rest and hence early morning saline can be thick. If this is the only problem nothing to worry. Please drink 12 -15 glasses of water throughout the day.
