I am very addicted to chewing skin of my lips and skin inside my mouth (inner cheeks). I try to stop myself from doing this but after a while I find myself doing the same again. I have never smoked in my entire life if that can be the cause. What does this indicates and what should I do?

Dear user. The last reason people bite their cheeks is due to a simple nervous habit, much like biting one's nails. The root cause may or may not have been misaligned teeth or dentures, but ?nervous habit? cheek biting can be prevalent even in a perfect mouth. For chronic ?nervous habit? cheek biters, the solution may need some kind of substitute or ?training? to eliminate the habit. I suggest behavior therapy. Take care.
