Hi lybrate-user. Congrats on your niece. Sorry to hear about the problem with your sister. High blood pressure in pregnancy (pre-eclampsia) affects around one-fifth of all pregnancies, a small proportion of which continue after the baby has been born. There is a good chance that over time the blood pressure will return to normal, although at the moment no one can say if it will or if she will need some kind of treatment for life from now on. She should keep a record of her blood pressure and be in close contact with the Obstretician who delivered the baby. Please let me know should you need any help.
