I am 31 years male. After having food feeling slight pain in my left stomach. My father and sister had gall bladder stones and removed the bladder. Will I also get same issue? No smoking or drinking habits. Following vegan diet. Please let me know if there are any preventing I can do for not getting gall bladder stones.

Firstly, gallbladder is on your right hand side so the pain is not cos of gall stone avoid junk food refined cereals salt and sugar (ok to have in moderation) too much oily and burnt food to do drink minimum of 3 litre water daily eat more veggies and fruits that should keep you away from gall stones.

Greetings Mr. lybrate-user, I understand your query. Gall bladder is an organ in your body, essential for bile juice storage and secretion which is useful in digestion of the food we consume. The location of gall bladder is on the right side of abdomen attatched to lower side of liver. Pain due to gall stones can be vague and mostly presents around belly button or more on right side. Apart from that, other symptoms showing indigestion and change of colour of stools and less commonly jaundice can also occur. So I do not think your symptoms suggests gall stones. Also heriditary concept of gall stones is very rare. Hence please do not be alarmed. Your symptoms mainly suggest it to be gastritis. But again you can always go for an ultrasound abdomen to check for any abnormalities. Coming to the concept of preventing gall stone formation, cholesterol is the main source of gall stones.
