I have food calculus in teeth what should I do ?
Ask Free Question
Food calculus is not something that is in actuality a term. It is either food debris or calculus. Food debris is the fresh deposits on your teeth after you have had a meal. For tackling food debris, the best method would be brushing your teeth. But it might not be possible if you are outside or on the move. In such a case, it is advised that you rinse your mouth thoroughly (preferably with a mouthwash) in case it is calculus (you can confirm by its hard consistency and persistence even after brushing continuously), the best solution would be that you visit your local dentist who can easily remove the calculus using specialized instruments and by the skill they have learnt over time by a process known as scaling. It is also recommended that you perform scaling of your teeth once a year if you regularly develop calculus (as a long term build up of calculus may cause the underlying bone to resorb ie. Shrink)
