Hello, Top feed should only be given if mother is unable to produce enough milk. Any other milk apart from mother's milk is not completely safe, as it can give baby various infections and can also deteroite immunity further.

At three months, most of mother think, that breast milk is inadequate.its not true.If they give breast feed as per age of child in months, they will realise that weight gain is satisfactory. If you see that weight gain is less you can add cows milk fresh.and even you can give thin cereal soup in small quantity freshly prepare d at home. thanks, nice question.
